Alright, Listen...
I know I've been sucking at this blogging thing. But did you really expect anything else?
This weekend, being Memorial Day weekend, was busy and fun. Bonita has been growing tons of seedlings in her greenhouse (pictures imminent, I promise) in order to sell them at her farm stand on Memorial Day. So Saturday was spent cramming in all the other garden work that had to be done (plenty of weeding, watering, planting potatoes) so that Sunday could be devoted to bringing all of the seedlings from the greenhouse (about 1/2 mile away) to the barn. We've got a bunch of tomato varieties: Valley Girl, Amish Paste, Green Zebra, Valencia, San Marzano, Juliette, many others whose names I can't recall; also lots of bell peppers, hot peppers, eggplants, herbs...
The parade on Monday was hilarious. The Maine Militia did the color guard. (The veterans didn't want to have to perform any actual duties or walk, so they came later in the parade, in cars. The Militia consisted of 6 men in all black carrying semi-automatic weapons. Two of them were marching, the other four were more... strolling.) Then there was the combined middle & high school band, consisting of about 20 teenagers in tee-shirts and jeans being led by a morbidly obese man in all black occasionally shouting "sound off!" There was the ATV club float surrounded by about 10 ATVs (by far the most populous local club, by the looks of it), two girls doing tricks with flaming batons (one of them dropped hers on the ground every 5 steps or so), and miniature reproduction of the Vietnam Memorial on the flatbed of an 18-wheeler truck. The entire thing was hilarious.
Those nails are magical Booby! This weekend I....
Made my dad take me to DQ. Trust me, it was no where near the caliber of the Richmond variety, but I did take a pic. I told my dad to look "crazy" and he took it far to literally, but whatcha gunna do.
I practiced the ukulele a lot... i am adding to my repertoire with John Denver among others...
a video posting is eminent.

My Weekend
When we created this blog, we promised life updates. In order to stimulate this type of entry, and because I'm bored to my wits' end, I bring you my weekend.
Friday Night: I played Scene it and watched Bride Wars with Maggie... No pictures, but I can assure you, it was a blast.
Saturday Morning: Farmer's Market! These are the first
(greenhouse) tomatoes of the season! They are wonderful! We also got strawberries, lettuce, green onions, eggs, ribs, cabbage, baby zucchini, shitakes, tomato plants, and probably other things that I'm forgetting!

Saturday afternoon: I redid our coffee table! I went to the hardware store and talked to the pros about what steps needed to be taken then I got to it!
I used this beast to help with the sanding:

It wasn't a very nice facial exfoliater, though...

The finished product:

Impressive, eh? I wish you girls would be around to enjoy it with me in the fall!
Saturday night was more fun with Maggie. We went shopping at Micheal's and TJ Maxx (I'm a fancy girl, clearly) then played some scattergories. You all may not have noticed this, but I realy like to play games.
Sunday morning: Waffles and Bacon then did some of this with Mom:

Still with the games. Mom does not like games at all, but she loves this one -- Thanks, Hannah!
Sunday afternoon: As a grad present from Hannah Murray and her family, I got a gift certificate for a facial which I redeemed today, then Maggie and I went and got our nails did. The little Vietnamese lady talked me into letting her paint designs on my big toes...

(Please graciously ignore my pinkie toe wart... I'm working on it!)

Sunday Night: I talked to April! She talked me into this...

Then, I did laundry! (Lots and lots of laundry.)

If anything in my house can be classified as ghetto fab, it's the washer and dryer... chack out that wood paneling!

I spent most of the night packing and watching the last couple of episodes of House from this season. I rented "The Women", but haven't watched it yet. Check out my progress:

That was my weekend! I hope you all had a little bit more fun than I did (not a lot more though, that would make me jealous)! I miss you all tremendously!

chix
Oh, so apparently JK Rowling is publishing an 8th book in the series called Harry Potter and the Hot Chix of Earlbacon. That explains the chix in the exhibit...there was also open casting call for the movie version and cougs and I got two leading roles as the savages who ravage harry and ron before they meet their doom. It was great.

TV Night!
What a night! DWTS is on right now then Bachelorette! Wish you girls were here to yell at the TV with me.
LIVE BLOGGING REALITY TV NIGHT
8:15 PM: Gilles' junk in those white pants? OMG!
8:33PM: Even though the pants made her look fat, Shawn and Mark's dance was absolutely precious.
8:45PM: I know most of these are apparel comments, but Tony's shirt?! Eww! I also was not nearly as into this one as Shawn and Mark's.
8:56 PM: EEEk Gilles' ripped sparkle shirt!!!
8:57PM: LOVED Gilles and Cheryl!!!
9:06PM: Bachelorette time! Still loving Jillian!
9:12PM: Kiptyn?! Is that even a name?
9:17PM: HATE Greg, the professional fitness model... gross!
9:30PM: Alright, white wine and Graeter's strawberry ice cream in hand... I'm ready to get serious
9:39PM: I like how they subtitle the British guy.
9:54PM: So far, I'm under-enthused by the guys... I liked Tanner, though.
9:55PM: Stupid Kiptyn used 3 words to describe Jillian: hot, cute, and sexy... what a tool.
10:23PM: Correction: I like Tanner F., Not Tanner P. with the foot fetish
10:44PM: Rose ceremony, but I don't remember who anyone is! That's what you get when you combine laundry folding with online shopping with TV watching! I need my girls here to keep me focused!
10:47PM- I just realized how white this cast is... there is one Argentinian (still pretty white), but otherwise NO racial minorities... they usually at least pretend to be diverse.
10:51PM- Overall, I'm not that into this season so far... not heartbroken that I'll only have a TV for one more episode.
Alright ladies, I tried to pretend like we were watching our shows together, but it just wasn't the same. I love you all so much and already miss you bunches!

a few more pictures
I made a crustless quiche for dinner tonight! (sorry apes, no quinoa...)
And finally darlings, this is the real live sorting hat. I'll have you know that I committed a federal crime by taking this. Photography was STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the exhibition and because I wanted to have something to show for myself on the bloggy, I broke the law. That is how devoted I am.
Gnight!

Ron
Ron called me today! We had a lovely chat. He said we were great tenants and he was sad to see us go. He also wished us luck in our future endeavors. What a sweetheart!
He's going to walk through Dream House on his own tomorrow to make sure everything is in order.
Yay!
need some dance music?
Word up: Even though we don't live together, doesn't mean we shouldn't still have dance parties in our underwear. I suggest these tunes:

Also, April, I too would do Tucker in an instant!
