Friends!
I feel like I'm stuck in a musical rut. I've been listening to the same 8 songs on repeat every morning when I get ready for school (some old favorites, some new) and I need some freshening up. Here's my AM playlist, in case you're curious.
The King of Carrot Flowers pt. 1- Neutral Milk Hotel (reminds me of you)
Honey I Been Thinking About You- Jackie Greene
Remember the Mountain Bed- Billy Bragg and Wilco
The Temptation of Adam- Josh Ritter
Home- She & Him
CHBB- Speechwriters Ltd.
Gives You Hell- Glee
Bad Romance- Lady Gaga
(Clearly, the mix wakes up as I do).
Thoughts, suggestions? Throw a little love on it!

maybe try the avett brothers? a little country, a little rock and roll. the new arcade fire album is good too...i think it's called the suburbs.
ReplyDeleteUgh, no matter how much I try to like the Avett Brothers, I can't. Is it just me, or does everything coming from the West Coast suck ass?
ReplyDeleteOther than Sharon Jones and La Roux, pretty much everything I'm listening to is old school... how about revisiting John Legend, Amy Winehouse, Missy Elliot, Al Green?
Peaches came out with an album (I think it's called "I Like Cream" or something like that) last year, I know Shunda K is on it, and who doesn't love her, right? (Okay, probably lots of people.)
I'm not sure if I've mentioned her before, but Ida Maria's album (it's a couple years old now) is fun. Lots of good wake-up stuff.
On a related note, does anyone know of/like Matt & Kim? Because I want to fucking bitch-slap their talentless asses. I hope you all agree with me.
Well isnt that just a bundle of negativity. To prove you wrong I'm gonna name a bunch of good non-ass sucking things that come from the west coast : Minnie mouse, avocados on hamburgers, dancing with the stars, scharfen Berger chocolate, yellowstone, the redwood forest. Should I go on??
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend is full of good points there.
